۷Berkeh: When The University of Sciences and Education of Quran Karim backed away from its promises in Gerash, it created an outrage. Officials and representatives were shocked by the way the dean of the university in Gerash responded to the goodwill of the charitable people of Gerash, which was apparent in the huge construction site that was going to become a campus for this university. Now, a few months after the Quranic University is closed in Gerash, the campus is accorded for another purpose: Shiraz University, Gerash Branch.
The dean of Shiraz University himself attended the inauguration ceremony. Since the campus is under construction for at least two more years, the branch was inaugurated in Abadi School for the time being. Dr. Goshtasbi Rad said this branch is meant to be a gateway for Shiraz University in the southern region of the country: “this branch is going to be connected with at least three departments in the main campus: Faculty of Electronic Learning; Shiraz University Open and Specialized Training Center; and Shiraz University Innovation Center”.
Perhaps the main point in his speech, though, was the constant evaluation of the branch for activating any of these departments in Gerash: “We will evaluate you; and you will evaluate us.” This was a note of caution, as well as hope.
