Gerishna: “Cancer Prevention Foundation” will be inaugurated in Amir-al-Momenin Hospital of Gerash in near future.
“This will be a center for prevention and treatment of cancer”, says Dr. Bahmani, dean of the Medicine Faculty of Gerash, “and the researches in this field will be carried out in the Medicine Faculty and also in Special Diseases Center which will be inaugurated in near future.”
The foundation is a response to “the relatively high cases of cancer in the region, especially in Gerash”, according to Dr. Bahmani, “although we have to wait for a thorough study in this field”.
Dr. Ahmad Abdollahi, professor of the Medical University of Shiraz, who in a few months will receive his specialty in cancer surgery, will be presiding over this foundation. “Having twenty years of experience in the field of treatment of cancer”, He can say with certainty that, “Prevention and early diagnosis of cancer, and also education are our priorities in this center.”
